The Need!
There are many families in our city that face considerable difficulty meeting their basic needs; a major one being the ability to furnish their homes with simple necessities. These families can't afford a table to eat on, a chair to sit on, a bed to sleep in, a crib for their infants, or blankets to keep warm. They live without basic cookware, clothing, and other essentials.
What is Feed-A-Need?
Feed-A-Need is a city-wide charitable initiative that seeks to connect those who wish to give with those who need their help. We do this by picking up furniture and household items from donors and delivering them to those in need across Calgary.
Feed-A-Need supplies it's own trucks to move all of the furniture and household items we collect, and all of our labour is provided by volunteers. Every single household item we collect is donated to needy families free of charge; absolutely nothing is sold.
We Need Your Help. Feed-A-Need operates solely on donations. We do not charge to pick up or to drop off any of the furniture or household items we collect. As we are 100% volunteer operated, all received donations go towards expenses such as buying fuel and maintaining our trucks.
Unfortunately, Feed-A-Need is facing difficulties funding day-to-day operations. As the number of trucks we operate continues to grow due to increasing demand, basic expenses like fuel and maintenance continue to rise far beyond our current level of donations.
To continue operating and expanding, we could really use some help. If you would like to support us by donating any amount, please click on the donate button at the top of the page. Every donation makes a difference and allows us to continue serving the families that need our help.
We also kindly request that all of our furniture and household item donors offer at least a small donation when we pick up the furniture to help us cover our basic gas and maintenance expenses.
